Maple Bourbon Candied Bacon

This sweet, smoky, and slightly boozy bacon is crisp, caramelized, and irresistible—perfect for brunch, a cocktail garnish, or a snack!
Ingredients:
• 12 slices bacon
• ¼ cup maple syrup
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tbsp bourbon (optional, but adds great depth!)
• ½ tsp black pepper
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
2. Lay bacon in a single layer on the rack.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, bourbon, black pepper, and cayenne.
4. Brush the mixture over the bacon, coating both sides.
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until caramelized and crispy.
6. Let cool for 5 minutes (it will crisp up more as it cools).
