Grilling the Perfect Steak
Share
Grilling the perfect steak is far from complicated, but a few simple tips can be the difference between a good steak and an other-worldly one. Here are our tips and tricks for the perfectly grilled steak:
ROOM TEMPERATURE IS BEST
Take the steak out of the fridge about 20 minutes before grilling. Doing this will allow its internal temperature to rise enough that it will provide a more even cook once you've thrown it on the grill.
KEEP THE SEASONING SIMPLE
A simple rub is all you want. Many will say there is nothing better than a simple mix of coarse salt and freshly ground pepper. If you want to take it up a notch, you can add small amounts of garlic, rosemary, or thyme. But don't make the mistake of doing it too early! The best time to rub a steak is just before you throw it on the grill.
LET IT REST
The biggest mistake people make with steak is rushing to eat it too quickly. If you slice into a steak right right after removing it from the grill, you'll see all watch all of the juice run out. That may look good, but you'd really prefer to be eating that juicy goodness rather than watching it run out of your steak.
Tent the steak lightly in tin foil to keep the heat in and let the steak sit for about ten minute. Then it's time to dig in!
