Flat Iron Steak Tacos

Flat Iron is the perfect steak for  tacos that bold, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying

INGREDIENTS

For the  Marinade:

1 lb flat iron, skirt, or ribeye steak
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt


For the Tacos:

8 small corn tortillas (or flour if preferred)
1/2 cup chopped white onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 avocado, sliced
1/2 cup crumbled cotija cheese (optional)
1 lime, cut into wedges
Salsa or hot sauce for topping

 

DIRECTIONS

1. Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic, and spices.

Place steak in a ziplock bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it.

Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) in the fridge.


2. Cook the Steak

Grill Method: Preheat grill to medium-high heat and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until medium-rare (130-135°F).

Skillet Method: Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat, add a little oil, and sear steak for 3-4 minutes per side.

Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

 

3. Assemble the Tacos

• Warm the tortillas

Fill each tortilla with steak slices.

Top with onions, cilantro, avocado, and cotija cheese.

Squeeze fresh lime juice and add your favorite salsa or hot sauce.

 

PRO TIPS

Thin Slices = More Tender Meat – Always slice against the grain.

Don’t Skip the Marinade – It adds flavor and tenderness.

Use Fresh Tortillas – Toasting them on a skillet makes a big difference!
