Finishing on the Grill

Finishing on the Grill

There’s nothing quite like fall-off-the-bone ribs with a deep, smoky flavor and a caramelized, sticky glaze. The secret? Cooking them low and slow in the oven before finishing them off on the grill. This method ensures juicy, tender ribswith that perfect barbecue char.

STEP ONE
Rub your ribs with a spice rub of your choosing. For best results, rub them several hours before cooking. If you're looking for inspiration, you can use our recipe

STEP TWO
Heat the oven to 300 degrees. Once hot, place the ribs on a baking sheet and cook for two hours. As the 2 hour mark approaches, get your grill hot.

STEP THREE
Using oven mitts, remove the baking sheet from the oven and transfer the ribs to the hot grill. This step is critical for getting a crispy char on the ribs and finishing off that fall-off-the-bone tenderness. But don't let them grill for too long or they will burn. Once they've achieved the desired level of char, remove to a platter, tent with foil and allow to rest.

SAUCE
We like to serve our ribs dry and let individuals sauce them themselves. This way, the the ribs don't get soggy or oversauced.
